KIJ17 sees the return of some of our favourite activities as well as new and exciting challenges and experiences.

Activity Zones (Day Time)

Rebound

The Rebound Zone will be open on all programme days, following the main programme times. In this zone you will be able to race on the Giant Assault Course, take on the Wrecking Ball, battle on the Gladiator Dual, or just bounce around on the Bouncy Castle.

 

Target

The Target Zone will be open on all programme days, following the main programme times. In this zone you will be able to perfect your eye at Archery and Rifle Shooting, or have some fun on our Laser Quest Field Game.

 

Creative

The Creative Zone will be open on all programme days, following the main programme times. In this zone you will be able to get your hands dirty with our Wood Turners, Woggle Workshop and Glass Engravers, and release your creativity on a number of other craft areas.

 

Drive

The Drive Zone will be open on all programme days, following the main programme times. In this zone you will be able to have your first experience of driving a car under supervision, be taken around a 4x4 course and ride around a course on quad bikes.

 

The Woodland Challenge

The Woodland Challenge is brand new and unique to KIJ17. You will have the chance to Boulder, Climb, Traverse, Leap, Zip, Prussick and Stack to name a few. Some activities will be for 14-17 only. This will be a ticketed event running 45 minute sessions. Wristbands with your time slots will be allocated the evening before your activity day. Session times are as follows:

Eureka

The Eureka Zone will be open on all programme days, but admittance will be only to one Subcamp per day. This zone is a three hour activity running from 9.30-12.30 and 1.30 to 4.30. Your time slot will be advised the evening before. Have the chance to experiment and learn new things.

 

Air

The Air Zone takes place offsite at Old Hay, and will have ticketed time sessions each day. For your chance to fly in a microlight or try power kiting, head to the Information Centre for your tickets.

 

Splash

The Splash Zone takes place at two offsite locations, Bewl Water and Moat Park. These will be half day session, with multiple water activities at each location. You will be advised of your departure time the evening before your activity day.

 

Circus

A returning favourite to KIJ17 is the Festival Circus in our 600 seater circus tent. Contingents will spend an hour in the circus, which will start with a performance and then allow you time to learn how to juggle and balance! Your session in the Circus will be advised the evening before your activity day.

 

Day Trips

Each Subcamp has been allocated a day offsite for the Day Trip. If you are unsure what your day trip is, please contact your Subcamp Team.
