Mountain

A Festival Peak

About

Welcome to Mountain Subcamp.

The team have been in and around Scouting and Guiding for many years with many  having been lucky enough to attend some incredible international events, including several World Scout Jamborees - we cannot wait to bring that same energy and the right 'altitude' to our festival.

We're a team that knows how to work hard and have fun doing it. Our goal is to make new friends and create unforgettable memories, which we hope to do a lot of at KIJ25. We aim to not only make our Mountain Subcamp funny but rather hill areas (think about it!).

To us, KIJ truly stands out from other Scout and Guide events. It offers an unparalleled opportunity to explore a wide range of activities, make lasting friendships with other Scouts and Guides from all over the world, and have a truly unique and personalised experience. That's why our team considers KIJ an event that can't be missed. We can't wait to share our knowledge and love for Scouting and Guiding with you all and make our festival one to remember

If you join us you will embark on an unforgettable adventure in the mountains!

From thrilling challenges to shared meals, story telling to cultural crafts, there's something for everyone at the Mountain Subcamp.

You will explore our exciting line up of awareness projects, focusing on our impact on Mountain regions of the world. You will have the opportunity to take part in the KIJ Festival Challenge and enjoy subcamp specific activities while making memories that will last a lifetime.

From sunrise fun to evening concerts under the stars, there's never a dull moment at the Mountain Subcamp!

The Ibex

The Alpine ibex also known as the steinbock, is a species of goat that lives in the Alps of Europe. Alpine ibexes tend to live in steep, rough terrain and open alpine meadows. They can be found at elevations as high as 3,300m (10,800 ft) and their sharp hooves allow them to scale their mountainous habitat.

All individuals living today descend from the stock in Gran Paradiso National Park in Italy. The species went through a population bottleneck of fewer than 100 individuals during its near-extinction event. It is now of less concern with breeding introduced into France, Switzerland, Slovakia and Bulgaria.

It is inspiring the achievments that can be made when countries from around the world come togather to make a real difference to species or climate issues.

How amazing would it be if Scouts and Guides from around the world came together, took action and made a real difference to environmental sustainability. Being part of Mountain Subcamp you will have the opportunity to find out about Earth Tribe.
